Sacrifice

sac·ri·fice /ˈsakrəˌfīs/ noun: sacrifice; An act of surrendering a possession as an offering to God or to a divine or supernatural figure.

Through the years thousands of students have walked the campus of Blue Mountain Academy. For many of those students, their families sacrificed much so their children could come and be part of the BMA experience. “They shall all be taught of God” was and still is a core mission of BMA.

One father in particular exemplifies this commitment through sacrifice. Sacrifice was key to Everton Davis, father of three BMA graduates. Everton’s wife went to sleep in the Lord when his children were still young, but still he found a way to keep them in Christian education; first at Stroudsburg (now Pocono Adventist Christian School), then Andrews University for two of the three.

Through hard work, dedication, and sacrifice, he has one daughter that just graduated with her PhD (Carolyn), another which graduated with her MPP (Avonelle), and the third that is currently on his journey to higher learning (Michael).

To all the Davis’ thank you for sharing your journey with BMA and the many friends you’ve made along the way; congratulations!

BMA graduates are extraordinary in their accomplishments around the world. If you would be willing to share your story with us, please send it to info@bma.us along with a picture or two. Vlogs would also be accepted. Your story may be used in one of our feature spotlights.
